Unfortunately, the choice of social projects worthy of support in Germany is far too large. The extent to which, in one of the richest countries in the world, parts of the population are dependent on social support is a disgrace. We have decided to support one of the weakest, but also most important groups in our country. As banal as it sounds: children are the future of our country! Germany is a country whose only resource is its population. A country whose economic and thus also social well-being essentially depends on the education of its population cannot and should not afford that children from socially disadvantaged families have no or only insufficient access to education.

In Germany, it should actually be a matter of course that children get breakfast, lunch and dinner in sufficient quantity and quality. Unfortunately, this is not the case! Therefore, we have decided to support a project that offers children free and healthy meals in a safe and secure atmosphere. The Stiftung Mittagskinder provides children in two children's meeting places with two main meals and socio-educational support. In addition, the children receive homework supervision and can participate in various play, sports and educational activities.

The promotion of socially disadvantaged children and young people was already a matter close to my father's heart. Above all, the fight against youth unemployment was a concern to which he devoted himself. In this respect, having grown up in a sheltered environment myself, I was sensitised to the issue at an early age. I would be happy if we could also contribute a little with our commitment so that "no one has to stay outside".
